ENERGY STAR Mortgage... financing energy efficient mortgages.
With an ENERGY STAR mortgage you can finance cost-effective, energy-saving measures as part of a single energy efficient mortgage for a more energy efficient green living home.
This mortgage allows you to finance energy savings improvements to your home without paying more than you would for a typical mortgage.
This mortgage allows you the opportunity to lower your energy consumption while making energy efficient improvement to your home. Oh… you will reduce your carbon footprint!
These mortgages focuses on a 20% to 30% energy savings with energy efficiency improvement to new and existing homes by making them more affordable for home owners and home buyers just like you.
These homes includes proven energy efficient features that increases home quality and homeowner comfort, and lower energy demand and reduced air pollution.
The energy savings must be verified by an energy auditor using an approved audit protocol called a
Home Energy Rating.
Currently these mortgages are part of a pilot program in Main with and in Colorado.
Work is underway to bring the pilot program to Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.

This pilot program is a collaborative effort between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Energy Programs Consortium, state energy and housing agencies, as well as the Ford Foundation and the Sudan Foundation.
